At Home Group its critical we continue to deliver services for our customers during the COVID-19 outbreak, and our awesome colleagues are at the very heart of making that happen. We need Brilliant People like you to join us (and not just during this challenging time). We are doing things a little differently at the moment, so to keep you, our customers and ourselves safe well engage with you digitally where possible. 

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team where youll be responsible for the kitchen duties. Youll order all the food, menu planning and ensure all health & safety regulations are in place. Appleton Lodge is a Supported Housing Scheme for adults with a wide range of memory problem who need extra support and care to enable them to live as independently as possible whilst domiciliary care packages are provided by Human Support Group, with carers on site 24 hours a day.
 
About our team
Youll be working alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements.  To us were not just a team were a €œwork family€. Our manager is Karen Bell who has been with the organisation for 6 years. There are currently 5 of us in the team and we dont just love to support our customers, were there for each other too! We have the lovely Debbie who is our Housing Management Worker and has been with the organisation for 3 years, Nicole our wonderful Support Co-ordinator who has been with the organisation for 2 years, Maria our very committed Apprentice who has been with the organisation for 8 months, and Barbara our fabulous Cook who has been with us for 7 months.
 
Working hours
Youll work on a rota basis between the hours of 9.30am - 3.30pm and take your turn working weekends and bank holidays. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend it on doing the things that matter to you!
 
About you
Youre passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. Youll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds.
 
As a cook you will be responsible for ensuring that all stock is recorded when received and expenditure records are maintained. Youll plan and prepare all meals taking into account our diverse customer group to ensure all meals suit a variety of dietary needs and cultures.
 
If youre not the biggest fan of technology, thats not a problem to us. You do need to know that we are quite a high tech company and most of our application process and mandatory learning are online. However were glad to support you, if you need help. 
 
To make sure our customers are well supported, its important that you have worked in either a social housing or care setting environment before and have your level two in Food Safety.  Dont worry, we wont drop you in the deep end, well help to you understand how things work at Home Group!
 
When you join, youll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you dont have a transferrable one.
