Homeless People Support Worker
KBOP wellbeing services
Clare House, 19 Clare Hill, Huddersfield
Permanent, Part Time (35.5 hpw)
Salary of £17,600 to £18,000 pa, pro-rated

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team.
Our new KBOP wellbeing service is part of the new Kirklees better outcome partnership. We aim to improve the lives of our customers and achieve better outcomes.
Our team supports 83 individuals within the Kirklees community. We support those facing homelessness with accessing social housing and engaging with private sector landlords to sustain tenancies or find new accommodation.
We support individuals with physical and mental health needs, including drug & alcohol dependency. Helping customers to get the support they need to improve their wellbeing. We help customers to access training courses, HAP programme, and support as they move into employment.

About our team
Youll be working alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements.  To us were not just a team were a work family. Our manager is Deborah Sugden and as worked for home group over 9 years.
 
There are 9 of us in the team and we dont just love to support our customers, were there for each other too!
 
Working hours Monday to Friday office hours
 
About you
Youre passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. Youll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds. You will have some experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.
 
We help change our customers lives for the better. Youll play your part by assisting in the delivery of tasks that are based on our customers personal support plans, and their needs and aspirations to achieve outcomes. Youll work with our Support coordinators and external agencies to assess and engage support for our customers. We empower our customers to develop the independent living skills they need, to successfully move on. Together well make a difference!
 
To keep our records straight, and customers safe, it's really important that you are technologically savvy or at the very least not a technophobe!
 
To make sure our customers are well supported, its important that you have worked in a floating support service environment before. Dont worry, we wont drop you in the deep end, well help to you understand how things work at Home Group!

As this is a community based role, youll need to travel around to spend time with your customers. You could do this role using public transport, or if you drive and have access to a car that would also be amazing! We pay your expenses to cover this use!
 
When you join, youll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you dont have a transferrable one.
