Empowering customers to live rewarding and happy lives. Thats when it hits home!

We have a fantastic opportunities for enthusiastic Support Workers and Care Workers like you, to join either our central resource team or out of hours team.  Youll be the €œSwiss Army Knife€ of support as we provide care and support to a wide range of customers across our different services, so we are looking for someone as flexible as a slinky in their approach and availability.

About our teams

Youll join our outgoing team, full of diverse characters, who are all friendly and helpful with newbies. The Central Services team is led by Stacey, who has worked for Home Group since 2010 when she started as a Support Worker and took full advantage of all the trainings and experience that the company has to offer. She is supported (and couldnt do without) our Client Service Manager, Steve, who balances Staceys tendency to talk€¦A LOT.  Steve saves his words for perfectly timed witticisms. We have recently welcomed Jodie to the management team who, as a former member of the CRT, brings a wealth of service knowledge to support the teams.

Central Resource Team

You will be a mobile worker in either care or support services, acting as the super hero of support, jumping day by day to a new service to cover annual leave, or providing extra support. One day you could be working a day shift in one of our Learning Disabilities Services supporting everyday living, another day youll be supporting with cooking, cleaning and shopping activities, then you could be on a sleep-in-shift in one of our mental health and young people services managing challenging behaviours.

Or join us as a Care Worker (known internally as Supported Living Worker) where one day you might be spending the day helping your customer with their personal care allowing them to live within the community (including medication or bathing), then the next day you may be supporting them to attend college and their chosen social activities.

Working hours

We need you to be super flexible because you could be working in any of our 20 services in the TN (Tyneside and Northumberland) area, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend doing the things that matter to you! You will be working days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Although you wont have a fixed rota you will have a fixed 5 week rolling rest rota and you will be provided all shifts approximately a month in advance. Our team currently have every other weekend off.

About you

Youre passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. Youll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds. You will have some experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.  We help change our customers lives for the better.

Youll play your part by assisting in the delivery of tasks that are based on our customers personal support plans, their needs and aspirations. It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however its your €œcan do€ positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success.

We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!  Experience in providing physical assistance to help wash, (shower or bath) dress, toilet and other. If youre not the biggest fan of technology, thats not a problem to us. You do need to know that we are quite a high tech company and most of our application process and mandatory learning are online. However were glad to support you, if you need help.

When you join, youll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you dont have a transferrable one.
