Job Description

The Humanitarian Policy and Practice team are instrumental in the delivery of our strategy and we are now recruiting for a Head of Business Development within this team.

 

ActionAid is an international charity that works with women and girls living in poverty. Our dedicated local staff are changing the world with women and girls. We are ending violence and fighting poverty so that all women, everywhere, can create the future they want.

 

This role takes responsibility for leading and managing the team as they raise multi-year income from institutional donors. The team will build an innovative pipeline of concept and proposals and will work closely with senior stakeholders to develop and generate income generation strategies.

 

As well as building relationships with new donors, you will also work closely with ActionAid UK’s existing major donors, such as DFID, the EU, DEC and the START Network.

 

Therefore, to succeed in this role, you will need to have a track record in raising significant funds for humanitarian work form institutional donors, in particular DFID.

 

As well as working collaboratively with external partners, you will have the ability to work with internal stakeholders across the entire ActionAid Federation.

 

To succeed in this role, you must have experience in building and leading consortia, and in linking programme and policy work.

 

We are looking for a strategic thinker with strong bid writing and people management skills.

 

Please note that to take on this role, you must be willing to travel internationally on a regular basis.
