Weve got an excellent team foundation to build upon as our technical portfolio develops and expands; thats where you come in. We need an awesome IS Test Analyst like you to execute application specific validation and testing activities.

About Our Team

Youll be working within our fabulous dynamic, energised and focussed team (if we do say so ourselves) who are passionate about validating any new or changed service matches its Design Specification, and meets the €œRequirements of the Business€.

To us were not just a team, were a work family. Our manager is Andy who has just celebrated his fourth Home Group anniversary.Andy is our resident larger-than-life Scouser who enjoys trudging the fairways at Blyth Golf Club, mixing dance music and tolerating the journey to Goodison Park every fortnight. He is accountable for ensuring we provide the robust Services the organisation needs to deliver its Strategy.  Andy encourages the team to implement Continual Service Improvement, while ensuring Testing adds real value, in terms of quality outcomes. There are 7 of us in the team at the moment, and we dont just love to support our customers, were there for each other too!

We like socialising as a team, relaxing together and sharing laughs; the diverse nature of the gang make for some great anecdotes, perfect for a good night out!

Working Here

About You

Youre a lover of technology with a real eye for detail and an analytic enquiring mind (you might say a good mix of Elon Musk and Rachel Riley). Its also important that you arent a shy and retiring type, as we need you to challenge our stakeholders and voice your opinions where it matters! Its also critical that you finish what you started, as here at Home Group youll own the end to end test cycle from Test Planning and Design through to Test Closure.

Youre a team player who is prepared to help others and who is open to new ideas; youre not only willing to listen, contribute, challenge, exercise autonomy and innovate when required, but you know when the time is right to get your head down.

Technically, it would be great if you had the right certificates, such as ISTQB / ISEB qualifications, however its your great transferrable skills and the desire to work towards getting certified that matter most! Youve got significant and established skills in in functional or system testing, together with some test automation, as well as experience in testing websites (including back-end DBs, CRM and CMS)!   We also use Oracle eBS for back office support, so some experience of testing ERP systems would be fab, as you'll get involved in testing this too.

While youll be part of our test team, youll often take on sole responsibility for all aspects of testing.  Youll work with development teams, project managers, end users and other groups to ensure some or all criteria of testing are fulfilled. Youre an expert in the technical aspects of software, youll be gathering requirements, generating test scripts, test plans and integration with software components.

 You have knowledge of and experience with tools such as CRM, CMS, ERP, JIRA and similar, with the ability to write clear, robust test cases. It would be great if youve had exposure to both Waterfall and Agile development and standards too. Wed prefer you to have experience of working in the SDLC / Service Management environment, helping to deliver and support IT services using ISTQB, ITIL, PRINCE2, MSP, Agile, SCRUM and / or Kanban best practice.
