Full time Year 2 Teacher and Phonics Lead - Full time - B29

Your new company
A primary school in B29 is looking for a Year 2 teacher to start with them after Easter. The school is a dedicated and passionate school in the community of Selly Oak, which provides a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic and personal growth for its students. As well as this, they have a strong emphasis on optimism, success and kindness.

Your new role
The school are looking for a dedicated and experienced Year 2 teacher to work with them full time, 5 days a week, from 8:30 till 3:30, starting from after Easter. The role is until the end of the academic year, but there is a potential for it to be longer. There are already schemes of work in place, resources for lessons are provided and a team for you to collaborate with. They would also like for this candidate to be a Phonics Lead, so they must be confident about phonics.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to be a successful candidate:

  • You must be a Qualified Teacher, who holds a QTS.
  • You must have experience teaching in a primary school.
  • ECTs are welcome to apply, but the role is not an ECT role.
  • Good knowledge of Phonics/ KS1 curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Develop and deliver lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of Year 2 students, fostering their intellectual, social, and emotional growth.
  • Monitor student progress, assess their strengths and areas for improvement and provide feedback.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies that are positive and effective
