Salary: London: 27,370 - 31,680 (Inc. London weighting 3,700 Per Annum Pro Rata) Birmingham or Leeds: 23,670 - 27,980 (Pro Rata) Location: London, Leeds Or Birmingham Hours/days per week: 17.5 Hours (2.5 days p/w) Contract: FTC until December 2019 Closing date: Sunday 9th July - 11:59pm Interview date: Tuesday 18th July Are you a skilled, creative grassroots organiser and trainer with experience of divestment campaigning? If so then we?d love to hear from you. Fossil fuel divestment is one of the world?s fastest growing and most successful environmental campaigns. We?re looking to build on divestment successes in the UK by increasing our support for local activists campaigning to get local authority pension funds to move their investments out of fossil fuel companies. Purpose of the role Friends of the Earth England, Wales and Northern Ireland supports local campaigners working to persuade local authority pension funds to divest their holdings in fossil fuel companies. Working closely alongside climate change campaigns and community organising staff you will use your knowledge of divestment campaigning and your experience in effective grassroots organising, to: - Help local campaign groups increase their strength, capacity and ability to campaign - Provide local campaign groups with the training, information and support on divestment issues they need to enable them to campaign effectively - Support local campaign groups to connect and work with each other, helping to build regional, national and international networks of divestment campaigners.
