This is your chance to establish a cutting edge analytical and insight unit at the heart of the Home Office. The Department is looking for someone who can combine the classic analytical disciplines with emerging sources such as data science, behavioural science and open source analysis.
This is a role like no other - with the opportunity to help influence and shape policy across the whole Home Office remit. Bringing together all the analytical functions from across the Department, on the key priority issues, the new unit will provide an authoritative, multi-source picture, using judgements and key facts, along with analysis and insight so as to provide maximum value to Home Office business and the public debate on key social policy and operational issues.
The Director will need to cultivate an ethos which combines customer focus, innovation, open and collaborative working together with rigorous quality assurance and professionalism. The creation of this unit has brought together over 250 people including economists, statisticians, operational and social researchers, intelligence analysts amongst others, and will require dynamic and proven leadership skills.
The complexity and profile of the Home Office?s issues means that there is a wide range of stakeholders and external partners as well as multiple internal customers.
