Job Description

Full time (37.5hrs per week) - Up to 17k + allowances + excellent benefits - This post is funded for a three-year period About Acorns Children's Hospice Trust We provide a network of care for life-limited and life-threatened babies, children and young people, and their families, in the heart of England. Last year alone we supported over 800 children and more than 1,030 families. As a people-focused charity, we're a learning organisation with a clear sense of direction. How you'll help This is your chance to play a key role in Acorns as you deliver essential support to our nursing team across all aspects of care. That will include providing personal care, feeding, assisting with medication, facilitating play activities and anything else that makes a positive difference for the children and young people you look after. Working both within the hospice and in families' homes, you'll also provide parents and carers with vital practical and emotional support. Who you are With a Health and Social Care Diploma, NNEB, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification, you should bring sound experience of providing physical care for children and/or young people. A background of working with children who have complex health needs or life-threatening conditions would be useful, though it's not essential. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is important, plus the ability to work equally well alone or as part of a team. A knowledge of one or more of the following languages would also be an advantage: Pashto, Urdu, Panjabi, Bengali or Mirpuri.
