Salary: 35,505 Location: London Hours/days per week: 35 hours / 5 days per week / 1.0 FTE Contract: Permanent Closing date: 2 January 9am Interview date: 17 January Purpose of the Role Are you are passionate about protecting our environment and the people that depend on it? Would you like to bring your experience of coordinating complex, impact focused projects to make Friends of the Earth's campaigns more effective? Do you want your skills in agile and project management to help people conserve and restore our planet? The purpose of this role is to coordinate the work of a campaign priority project team to ensure that they develop and deliver a strategy and plan that achieves the aims of the project. The person in this role will: maximise impact by coaching individuals and the team; work with cross organisation stakeholders; ensure there is a shared understanding of the strategy and plan; ensure all team members fully contribute to planning, team prioritisation and delivery; and that team is one where learning and continuous improvement occurs. This role holder is not the line-manager of the project team members. Main Responsibilities Facilitate the team to develop and deliver a plan and strategy, for a major cross-organisational campaign project or other priority project that is commensurate with achieving the internal and external strategic objectives. Ensure the team incorporates organisation objectives around making the best use of digital, being an organisation that empowers and co-creates campaigns with an increasingly diverse range of communities to campaign on shared environmental priorities. Deploy facilitation skills and project management methods, particularly agile, but also others as necessary, to develop strong, unified, collaborative team working to reach shared aims, objectives and project plan. Support the team to self-organise and understand what their capacity is in order for them to work at a sustainable pace while continually improving and striving for high impact. Key Skills and Attributes Essential Ability to successfully develop, facilitate and report on complex, long term, large scale projects, with substantial budgets and diverse multiple stakeholders inside and outside an organisation. Experience of applying a range of project management techniques in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating within a fast moving environment, ensuring the project responds to changes of agenda internally and externally. Some understanding of Agile and a commitment to learning about it. A commitment to Agile principles and to use and adapt Agile whilst maintaining the principles. Experience of coaching project teams and individuals to work collectively, effectively and efficiently towards a shared vision and sense of common purpose to achieve prioritised project impacts, with all individuals contributing their fair share of the endeavour. Experience of managing and reporting on substantial budgets. About the Team The Facilitator and Coach team is a new team that works across FOE?s priority projects. Typically a priority project will have 6-10 people working on it form a range of disciplines including campaigning, media, activism, fundraising with specialist input form areas such as legal and planning. Current priority projects include the Bee Cause, Fossil Free and Clean Air. Priority project duration can be short or long term.
