Head of Area (Midlands) Department: Midlands Location: Home Based Job status: Permanent Hours: Full time, 36 hours per week Closing Date: 9am on Friday 5 th August 2016 Salary: £52,446.44 per annum. Skills for Care is the employer-led workforce development body for adult social care in England. By working with employers and sharing best practice, we help raise quality and standards across the whole sector and ensure dignity and respect are at the heart of service delivery The purpose of this role is to strategically lead and manage an area team to successfully deliver the Business Plan. This role covers the Midlands area and will also take on national work across England. The postholder is required to fully understand the breadth of the Skills for Care offer and will have experience engaging with employers and key strategic partners. The successful candidate will gather employer feedback and negotiate with key partners at area level to ensure their views are represented in the development of adult social care workforce priorities. This includes leading and motivating an effective team operating across the area promoting the benefits of strategic workforce development to a dispersed, wide range of employers. The ideal candidate will have the knowledge skills and ability to contribute to business development and knowledge of social care policy issues and strategic drivers.
